What Ya Working With?
Long ago a man died, and his family was left in debt. Back then the debtors could take the male children and place them in slavery. The woman desperate to save her sons visited the prophet for advice. His answer, “What do you have in your house”? Her answer, “Little drops of oil”. She went and asked her neighbors for jars, and filled them with the oil. After she had done this, the Prophet said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left."
I share this story to ask you what do you have in your house? What are you working with to further your dream along the way? Are you exercising your faith? For the woman in the story the few drops of oil lasted longer than the jars. Many times we are only defeated by our lack of action.
There are five points you absolutely need to take away from this story.
- What do you know or have that can bring you wealth? Leverage the talents and gifts you have!
- Believe in your dream. Have faith in your knowledge and skills and walk it out.
- Tell somebody, work in relationship with others! It is through relationships our dreams are realized.
- Sell your products and services. Sales are the key to prosperity.
- Step up your game! If you’re not achieving the results, make the decision to ask for help.
